Last night was the first time I’ve made myself wear heels for any length of time since my brother’s wedding. Â

Proudly displaying my boots! That's a pretty close shot...but you really can't see my Incognito Braces!
He insisted that I match the other girls with high heeled silver shoes (which I actually wore to my sister’s wedding in December), but I was healing my foot!  I was in a bit of pain afterward, so I have been avoiding heels since.
Anyway, I was at a local communicators’ social/networking event, and I rocked my walk with a pair of black, conservatively-heeled boots that I bought in Vegas in February.  So great to finally wear them!
I know that has nothing to do with braces, but I’m just happy.  Oh, and I, of course, talked about braces quite a lot

(Left to Right): Caitlin, Carla, myself and Ali socializing at a communicators' event. They're three talented girls I work with! Guess how many of us are wearing braces?!
of the night with my colleagues, Caitlin, Carla and Ali, and bumped into a few people I know like Jonathan, one of my all-time favourite web developers and Michelle, a former 3Mer.
I always find it amazing that in a crowd of attentive communicators, not one person says anything about affected speech or that they can see my braces.  Are they polite or is it really true that no one notices them? You be the judge. I like to think they’re invisible braces from sight and sound.
As an aside, that hook is still noticeable to me in my lower right jaw.  It rubs my tongue, so I’m still wearing wax when I talk (just on the hook).
