So, remember that time I went to the orthodontist and found out that I broke my wire on
my Incognito Hidden Braces?! That was not-so-awesome.
I. Feel. Awful.
The thing is, I don’t even know how it happened! I don’t think I noticed it because there was a chain elastic all the way to the back protecting the wire from my ever so curious tongue. And for someone who looks at her teeth a lot, it’s kind of crazy that I didn’t notice that my back molar on the left side wasn’t in-line with the rest of my teeth!
My hygienist noticed when she went in to change my elastics. It was so crazy because she saw the wire didn’t line up…traced it to my tooth…and saw it as broken flush with the bracket. When she took it out, it reminded me of when I was a kid working on musical instruments with my dad. The wire pulled out of the slot like a spring on a clarinet or flute.

My hygienist trying to show me that the wire doesn't line up. It's not really clear, but I liked the mirror pic, so just use your imagination! She's pointing out the issue area.
To fix this self-inflicted issue, my doctor says he will go back a wire during my next appointment to catch the back tooth again. For now, he’s leaving it as-is since, unlike most people, I’m not in any rush to finish my treatment. I want to keep these on until next April!
Please be aware that if you break your wire on your braces, since the wires are custom-made, it may mean going back a wire or perhaps the doctor will need to order in another customized wire…which could lengthen your treatment time.
Anyway, the chain elastic is gone! All is going well. I didn’t end up getting my upper wire changed this time, but maybe next time!!

ok… so today i was cleaning my teet and I felt something in betwwen my two front teth so i started messing with it. My wire ended up popping out of a few of the brackets. Nothing looks broken. I called the dentist and i go in tomorrow Any suggestions?
Hey, Tori!
I hope you got my emails. I was writing back to you from my phone, so I couldn’t access this comment section. I hope all is well with your braces!!!
